Graduates of this program can acquire the knowledge and technical skills needed to carry out specific duties that may include performing venipuncture by vacutainer, butterfly, and syringe methods; collecting capillary blood; performing electrocardiography with basic interpretation; and assisting with infection control, minor laboratory testing, medical record documentation, and data entry.
The program is also designed to help eligible students prepare for the Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) exam sponsored by the National Allied Health Test Registry, a division of the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).*
